A Prayer for Trooper Michael J. Anson:

Lord God, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Trooper Michael J. Anson, of the New York State Police, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. Thus, in our life, may he live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God." [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

"Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends." [John 15:13 ESV]

“And he [Jesus] said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.” [Luke 23:43 ESV]

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 EVS]

On September 26th 2017, I was part of a rotary club sponsored trip that sent 25 Police and 25 Fire Fighters from my city to ground zero, 9/11 memorial museum and One World Trade. What we saw and experienced was absolutely heart wrenching and is very difficult to describe. To stand at the very spot where so many of my brothers and sisters made the ultimate sacrifice doing the job that so many of us do everyday was hard to process and imagine what everyone went through on 9/11/01. I stood between the two reflection pools and looked up in the sky and it was very hard to imagine that 16 years prior all of the destruction and lives that were senselessly lost on that very spot. God bless all of the first responders who lost their lives that day as well as the ones who are to this day dealing with the aftermath that they have experienced mentally and physically. God bless you Trooper, god speed and RIP.

Trooper Anson, you will be missed by everyone in the New York State Police. I remember the days when my father was a Justice of the Peace in the Town of Kirkland and hearing the stories of how members of the New York State Police would bring criminals in for sentencing for almost everything they did. You helped out at the World Trade Center on the days after the attacks on September 11, 2001. My condolences go out to your family and the entire New York State Police at this time.
