Officer Ken Copeland a true gentleman. He was one of the nicest people you would ever want to know. I am so sad and so angry to hear about his death. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and his fellow officers. May God provide you with comfort.

"Angels In Blue" I had this friend you see, who loved God, Country, You and me. My friend went to work day or night the peace to keep, so you and I could sleep. He worked the holidays and weekends, away from family and friends. To keep this peace for you and me. Each day this friend put his life on the line to spare yours and mine. Then one day he paid the price, he gave his life. You've done well my friend, patrolling these earthly streets. Now it's time to walk on Heaven's beat. The next time you see a Police Officer or two, remember they are one of God's Angels in Blue. And God said; "Blessed are the Peace Makers." I found this poem and it seemed to fit. My condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Kenneth Copeland. May God give you comfort during this time of loss.

It will be a very sad Christmas for the family of San Marcos, Texas Police Officer Ken Copeland. He was killed while trying to serve a warrant to a criminal who had a history of committing violent crimes. At this time not just the family mourns but the police department and the entire community mourn the death of this brave police officer who was killed just 21 days before Christmas. It will be a very sad Christmas for the family of this fallen officer and for the community and the police department.

Ofc. Ken Copeland your life mattered!! My once Co-worker, my friend, my brother in blue...your infectious smile, memorable drawl and contagious laugh will be the memories I hold dear of you! Needlessly and senselessly ambushed by a coward, who robbed your children, wife, family both blood and blue of an amazing sheepdog! Rest easy brother - we will take the watch from here.

My thoughts are with Ken's family. I met Ken when he was a Coast Guard reservist for a while and I served with him while he was deployed to the Deep Water Horizon oil response. A good man who will be missed.
