Reflections for Patrolman Brian David Shaw

I am very sorry for your loss. He seemed like a good man. I wish he could have lived his life to the fullest. He has a great family, and it's sad that this happened to him and so many other police officers.

I had the opportunity to work with both officer Shaws when I was an EMT at East Deer. These two were the most sweet fun loving cops I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. He will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will forever be pro blue lives and fight for him so that hopefully one day things like this no longer happen. RIP Brian.

I hope that everyone will find comfort in the scripture Acts 24:15-"And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Until we see our loved ones again in Paradise on Earth, please accept my condolences.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Brian was killed.

To the Shaw family, fellow officers, and all who call Brian beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you. You were so heartbreakingly young when you were taken from them,

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Brian gave to his community and the citizens of Pennsylvania and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 17th, 2017.

This morning I ran a 5K Police Run that we held on the base I am stationed at in the Middle East. I had the honor of carrying a brick during the run with Officer Shaw's name on it. I just want to say what a terrible tragedy it is to have lost a good man at such a young age. My heart goes out to his family, friends, and fellow officers. I will always remember.

Very Respectfully,

I played Taps for your funeral, as well as Derek Kotecki's and so many others who have been taken by cold blooded killers. Our system of justice for all of your killers is so unfair and heartless for the Officers and their families. Hopefully, justice will be done to these maniacal, useless animals, whether in prison or out of prison.

Rest In Peace young Brother.

Brian,
You served for a short time, and you had a lot of life left! It sucks that someone who has no respect or guts enough to serve a minute ended your time! I THANK YOU for the time you served, the guts to do so, and pray for your family and fellow Officers! GOD BLESS YOU, and ALL POLICE OFFICERS, no matter what the liberal JACKASSES think! All we can do is pray they wake up...but I ain’t holding my breath (until they need someone like you!!!) Rest well, my Brother!

The fact that the driver decided to open fire AFTER he fled on foot is just dumb. I mean it would have just been a ticket and that is it he had no reason to run let alone open fire on the officer just doing his job. The good thing is that now he has to live with the guilt of killing a man and leaving a family without a son, grandson, and brother.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Brian's life and death will bring glory to His name.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
