Officer Shannon,
On today, the 5th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army-especially during the Gulf War in 1991. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

I was thinking about my friend and just happened to google her name, I am devastated to find out she is gone. I met Wendy when I was serving active duty in the navy at Yorktown Weapons Station. She was in the 351st Transportation at Fort Eustis, VA.
To her family, I am truly sorry.
Gone but never forgotten my friend

I pray that everyone will find comfort in Revelation 21:4, where it says "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we can see all of our loved ones again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Wendy was killed.
To the Shannon family, fellow officers, and all who call Wendy beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I hope you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent for the dedicated service Correctional Officer Shannon gave to her community and the citizens of North Carolina and for the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on October 30th, 2017. She fought so hard for life!

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Wendy's life and death will bring glory to His name.
Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.
Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
