The thoughts, prayers, cares and hearts of CCPD go out to Polk County Police Department and the the families, both blood and blue of Detective Kristen Hearne.
Dear most gracious and Heavenly Father God, I pray to you today with a heart heavy with sorrow and grief. Although I never met this detective, we both belong to the same family. Family forged in a bond that was bestowed by you Father at our birth. Giving us a servants heart, a warriors heart. And all of us you've done this for have served as best we can. Knowing full well every day may be our last. This day, unfortunately, came today for Det. Hearne. Her pain, worries and problems are gone now. She now resides in joy and peace, for all eternity with you and Lord Jesus in Heaven. So I ask you now Father God to be with Det. Hearne's blood family, be with her blue family. Help them all Father to deal and cope with this immense loss. Lord Jesus, wrap them all in your arms and let them know your love, your strength, your comfort and your peace. Comfort her blood family with all your love power. And I pray, that you not only do the same for her blue family, but help each of them that they will gird their loins, put on the armor of God and recommit themselves to serve, to do this thankless job in such a way to always honor the memory of our fallen sister. Father, keep all our men and women in Law Enforcement safe. May your Angels always watch over and protect them, Returning them home to their families, safe and sound everyday. We pray this prayer to you in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
