Kristen was a beautiful, loving mother, daughter and sister. She loved her job. She was full of life and would light up every room she walked into with her beautiful smile and laughter. On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Kristen was killed.

To the Hearne family, fellow officers, and all who call Kristen beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

We just learned of the death of our community partner, Detective Hearne. We had offered our assistance to her and Polk County Police in the matters surround the untimely death of 12 year old Katelyn Nicole Davis some months ago. Detective Hearne was a caring professional and dedicated to her community and it's families, not just her own.
