I am a retired Houston Police Office with 31 yrs of service. I retired in Dec. 2014 During my tenure as a Houston Police Officer, I worked overtime programs with Traffic Enforcement. I had the pleasure of working with Sgt. Steve Perez. I worked with him for 3 yrs. I found him to be an excellent supervisor and a very nice person. He was easy to work for and he took care of the men working under his command. In 31 yrs working for HPD I had thousands of supervisors. He ranked high up to me as a supervisor. My condolences to the family. The world lost a true hero. Being a Sgt now with Harris County, I will try to be as good as a supervisor to my men as he was with me. Thank you for leading me and teaching me things while I worked under you, Sgt. Now, one Sgt to another one, rest in peace Sir.

My condolences to the family and friends of Sergeant Steve Perez. Losing a loved one is always difficult. Please try to take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where he said that there would be a resurrection. Just think of the time when you will see your loved ones again, in paradise conditions, here on earth. Once again, my condolences.
