Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Matthew Scott Baxter

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God

Today A Hero Was Laid To Rest.

Today a Hero was laid to rest.

Ribbons and badge upon the chest,  uniform perfectly pressed.

Brothers and sisters gathered there to pay respects and share a prayer.

The Thin Blue Line as it's commonly known, but the uniforms are all colors...grey, blue, black, green and brown.

All at attention as the Hero travels past.  Saluting the latest but seemingly never the last.

In support of each other and the Hero's loved ones left to grieve.

Trying to make sense of what they don't want to believe.

The Hero's family is left now to wonder how to move on.

The Hero would tell them that although I am gone rest assured I will be with you and tomorrow there will still be a dawn.

But know that the Hero was answering a calling.  As they say "doing the job" for
blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Rest well Hero...those loved ones, family and friends you left behind will carry on for you and never forget.

Signed,
An Anonymous Fellow Brother.
