Reflections for Police Officer Robert J. Johnson
I'm at a loss for words we talked not to long ago and you mention hanging it up. I know you wouldn't have you loved the job. I can't believe your gone you field trained me and I always remember that smile and laugh. I never saw you get mad even when I made mistakes. I recall the last time I saw you, you came into my office with that big smile of yours and said "look at you kid sitting in the big chair" then stuck your hand out and said congratulations on Chief. Bob I will miss you greatly I was proud to call you my friend you were a great guy and a great cop. Until we meet again my friend rest easy you did your time with honor.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the San Antonio Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights,
bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Lord,
amid the ranks of the holy and the pure,
illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the soul of Robert Johnson who went to his eternal place of rest.
May You who are the source of mercy shelter him beneath Your wings eternally,
and bind his soul among the living, that he may rest in peace. And let us say: Amen.

To all the officers of the Northville Police Department, my condolences go out to you on this tragedy that has happened on the day we celebrate the birth of our country on this day. It is a very sad day for all of you as you mourn the loss of a fellow police officer who has died in the line of duty. You grieve with lots of sorrow over the death of a fine officer. It sure is not a very Happy Fourth of July for the Village of Northville, NY.
