It is a sad Fathers Day for the family of Sergeant William Bishop as he was killed in the line of duty while investigating an accident on I-75 in Alachua County in Florida while on duty with the Florida Highway Patrol. He leaves a wife and son behind plus fellow Highway Patrol Officers as well.

A Prayer for Sergeant William T. Bishop:

Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Sergeant William T. Bishop, of the Florida Highway Patrol, was taken from us in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Sergeant William T. Bishop, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Trampas, I do not have the words. I can still see your smile. I can hear your voice. You were one of the good guys for sure. You were proof that uniform colors did not matter. We all have a job to do and we do it together. While we did not hang out off duty, I definitely thought of you as a work friend. Facebook is full of people mentioning your smile, your demeanor, and most importantly your words of wisdom and guidance to young Law Enforcement Officers. I had no idea you had impacted them in that way. Thanks for your service, and for all the help you provided through the years. RIP and we got it from here.
