Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Sergeant Christopher James Monica

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Christopher's life and death will bring glory to His name.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

God bless these men who selfishly served the citizens of this great state of Georgia. You were taken entirely too soon. My heart breaks for your family and I pray for peace and comfort for them in the difficult days to come. I pray for "peace that passes all understanding" that only God can give for your families and coworkers who are suffering your loss here on earth. God makes no mistakes in who He decides to bring home but it sure is tough for those of us left here to mourn their loss and don't understand Gods plan for taking them from us. God bless you for being so brave and simply doing a thankless job with very little compensation for the price you ultimately paid. We will never forget your selflessness and your families are in my prayers. Sincerely, Holly Conley- EMT/ LEO Wife/Houston County Fire Department Corporal's Wife

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

A Prayer for Correctional Officer Christopher Monica:

Lord God of mercy, peace, and love, we remember before Your throne in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Correctional Officer Christopher Monica, of the Georgia Department of Corrections, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. Thus, in our life, may he live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
