Reflections for Patrolman Edward Holmes
Most of society lives in a world that doesn’t recognize what gives them the comforts they live in. Because of you, and people like you, society can live that way.
You put the badge on to make the community a better place. You put the badge on for justice. You put the badge on to save life. You put the badge on for the principles it represents. The badges didn’t make you a hero, the badge was worn by a hero. To your family, and the generations that followed, thank you for your service. Be proud of this man.

We cannot fully honor our heroes of the present without paying tribute to our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 152nd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

How tragic that the thief/murderer was sentenced to a mere 12 years for taking the life of a husband and father who was simply doing his lawful duty.
Patrolman Holmes, your descendants are no doubt proud of your efforts to do what was right and just and I am glad you are now honored here.
God Bless and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful.
