On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Shawn was killed.
To the Anderson family, fellow officers, and all who call Shawn beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Lt. Anderson gave to his community and the citizens of Louisiana , and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 18, 2017.

I hope everyone will find comfort in Acts 24:15 - "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Until we see our loved ones again on an earthly Paradise, please accept my condolences.

May you rest in peace. Lord, please bring peace and comfort to his family. Becoming a member of law enforcement is truly the work of a courageous person. Surely there are easier ways to make a living. Never knowing what they are walking into, or may run into during a tour, they are the daily hero's. The noblest profession on earth. Thank you Sgt. Anderson. This country owes you and your family a debt that they cannot possible begin to repay.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Shawn's life and death will bring glory to His name.
Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.
Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

When I start my tour of duty god, wherever crime may be, as I walk the darkened streets alone, let me be close to thee. Please give me understanding with both the young and old. Let me listen with attention until there story's told. Let me never make a judgment in rush or callous way. But let me hold my patience, let each man have say. Lord if some dark and dreary night i must give my life, lord with your everlasting love portect those special in my life.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
