Reflections for Police Officer Michael J. Hance
One of the many amazing men and women who gave so selflessly and heroically that day and the many days that followed. Thank you for your service and please know that your sacrifice is one that will never, ever be forgotten by your law enforcement brethren.

Too many of my coworkers and far too many overall in and out of uniform were taken on 9/11 and will be taken from that date for many decades forward. Michael was a boxer, as I recall diagnosed near thanksgiving and taken scant months later.

I pray that everyone will find comfort in Revelation 21:4, where it says "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we can see all of our loved ones again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.

Your heroism and service is honored today. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I pray for solace and strength for everyone who misses and loves Michael . We will never forget the sacrifice made by each of the 9/11 heroes and their families.

You sir will forever be remembered not only for your action's in the recovery efforts of 9/11 but for your loving spirit all around! I was at New York City's Gay Pride a couple years ago and you were working security for us and you were so much fun dancing with everyone and letting us pick on you even though you were straight you made us feel safe and comfortable! Thank you Officer Hance!

I find it sad that officer Michael Hance will be most remembered for the 12 second video showing him dancing with a gay man while standing post during the 2015 Pride Parade. While that was an uplifting moment, I believe that during his 17 year career he had accomplished many more things worth remembering. Surely all his work at the pile after 9-11 is worth our appreciation, especially since it caused his early death. So many of our first responders spent numerous months there after the attacks, helping with the rescue, recovery and cleanup work. God bless you Michael Hance, you and your family are in my prayers.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Michael's life and death will bring glory to His name.
Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.
Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

You made me laugh and smile at your fun spirit even though I didn't know you personally. I'm sure we crossed paths since we were together on
9-11. I was much like you in that I loved to have fun and enjoy life with the people of NYC. Sorry you were taken from us so soon. May God look over you and your family.
