Reflections for Corrections Sergeant Richard Terence Dever
Sergeant Dever, it has been 19 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your 14 years of law enforcement service.

Sergeant Dever, today marks the 18th anniversary of your murder at the hands of a criminal that Massachusetts felt should be allowed to be a part of society. Yah, sure. You tried to do the right thing and simply wanted to escort a less than respectable person away from a potentially bad situation and it cost you your life. Long live the Commonwealth.
Brother, may your eternal rest be ever peaceful and God Bless you for your service to the less than grateful Commonwealth.

I cant believe it's been 15 years. I remember the phone call telling me you were gone. You were truly one of the best to work with. You will forever be missed and remembered.
