Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Rebecca A. Buck

Lord Jesus, as we watch our nation’s brave law enforcement officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the law enforcement officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4 ESV]

I was in the Academy with Rebecca back in 1992. She was always the nicest person to talk to or be around. Although I did not know her personally her persona was one of a genuine good hearted person. RIP

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 3rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace and strength for everyone who misses and loves Rebecca . We will never forget the sacrifice made by each of the 9/11 heroes and their families.

I worked with Buck and Duffy in the 4-oh (40th precinct). Rebecca Buck was the kindest person you ever met. She always had a smile on her face. RIP and remember to always carry your night-stick while patrolling heaven.

Having been retired for 15 years I just recently found out that Rebecca had passed in 2015. I remember her as a newly appointed sergeant in the 28th precinct. A very professional and likeable person. Rest well my sister, may God always keep you in his arms and watch over your family and co-workers in the N.Y.P.D. Until we meet again.
