Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Debra Lucinda Clayton

Rest easy Sarge. I will miss you so much. I will remember you by your smile, the most vibrant smile I have seen. You are more than a hero, you are my hero. You everything I wanted to be in a leader, as a future Orlando Police Officer, and as a person. You taught me so many lessons and the biggest was humility, I am so glad that I thanked you for that before it was too late. You were more than a mentor to me. You were more than a friend, you were my family. Coming to terms with the fact that you are gone has been one the most challenging obstacles that I have ever faced. It still doesn't feel real. You did everything right. You always wore your vest, you were kind, you were courteous, you were caring. You were the embodiment of OPD's policy of courage, pride, and commitment. I can't believe you're gone. I'm miss Dragon Boating with you and traveling with you and the rest of the team. I will never forget the lessons you taught me. Rest in peace Master Seargent. Rest in peace Dueling Dragon. Rest in peace my mentor. Rest in peace my occasional seat partner when we raced. Rest in peace my friend. Rest in peace my teacher. Rest in peace my sister. Look over me as follow in your footsteps and rest easy.

Please accept my deepest sympathies. Losing someone so close to us is very difficult. May all who are touched from this loss read Revelation 21:3-4. It is comforting to know that God will soon remove everything that causes tears of sorrow. Imagine death, pain and suffering being done away with. Only tears of joy when we welcome our loved ones back to a paradise earth. What a joy it will be to experience this promise very soon. Once again, my deepest condolences to the family and friends.
