Lt. Debra was a blessing to all who knew her. She will always be in my thoughts and memories. I truly miss her dearly. Most of all, I miss that million-dollar smile that she always had when I saw her.

She is gone to our heavenly father, but not forgotten.

My sister in Christ forevermore.

Thank you for your service to the community. To the family I’m so sorry for your loss my heart hurts every time I read of another one of our men and women in blue who lose their life for doing what many can’t or aren’t willing to do. May God provide you comfort when times are tough and refreshing memories of a hero that sacrificed her all to protect her community. Rest In Peace LT. Clayton

In my neighbourhood I saw a young woman crying. We asked what was wrong. The recent news of the case reminded her about the loss of Deborah Clayton.

Dear Lt. Clayton. First let me thank you for your service to the community. I am so sorry your dear life was cut short by a ruthless EVIL man, for, basically doing your job. My heart felt and sincere prayers to all your family. What I don't understand is if black lives matter why did yours not "count". No one protested, rioted and basically reverted to anarchy, using your senseless murder as an excuse. If anything the beast that took your precious life was treated better than he deserved. If there is a "color" problem in our nation it is that BLUE lives don't matter regardless of what color is under the blue....

Three years ago I was devastated. I failed my classes, I struggled, and I cried more than I have ever cried before. There were times when I felt like I forgot how to breathe.

I still think of you, and sometimes I still cry.

But losing you did bring me closer to God, and when you were here you told me that I would need a strong relationship with God and everyday I learn even more that you were right.

Lieutenant Debra Clayton, thank you for mentoring me and encouraging me to follow my dreams of becoming an Orlando Police Officer, my dreams haven't changed and I have about two years of college left.

I hope you are still watching over me Sarge.

Rest in Peace.

This was my second Sergeant when I got hired. She was always kind to me and I think of her often! I remember the times you and me met in the gym at the old station and chatted while you used the treadmill. I hope you are watching over us and smiling the way I remember! Thank you for such a immense sacrifice! It will never be forgotten!
