To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 121st anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you.

Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Phyllis Lasater Loya
mom of fallen Pittsburg Officer Larry Lasater, eow 4/24/05

Constable Barner, your efforts to take an obvious thorn in the side of all the citizenry brought about your terrible death and that is truly tragic. Though your efforts did indirectly end that animal's reign of terror, it should never have cost you your life or the injuries to all those who tried to assist you.

Your murderer's demise no doubt brought a sense of relief to every citizen in the County, but at such a high cost that could never be truly paid.

Thank you for your service. God Bless and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful.
