I wish to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Officer Rose and to the men and women of the Wayne State University Police Department. As a Wayne State grad and a former Detroit Police Officer, I am familiar with the excellent reputation of the WSU PD. The department excells at safe guarding thousands of students on a campus in the center of one of America's most violent cities. I will pray for Officer Rose and the members of the WSU PD.

Being a Law Enforcement officer on a school campus is a powerful place to be. It takes a special type of individual who can help create an environment where learning can take place, able to connect with our youth in a positive way while enforcing school regulations and local laws. Creating a safe campus for students, faculty and staff and be looked upon as protector and friend.
Officer Rose you were that individual, a positive role model and influence on those you came into contact with. You honored your campus community and your badge.

It's ironically sad that Officer Rose's picture shows him wearing a mourning band.

To the women and men of Wayne State University Police, our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with you as well as with all who know and love Officer Rose.

Our "Safe" job is proven over and over again not to be so and that is tragic.

May his murderer face true justice, if not in this world, then in the next. As for all who now must suffer the loss of a good man, keep him forever in your hearts and minds and he will always be near.

God Bless you, Brother and may you eternally Rest in Peace.
