Reflections for Detective Benjamin Edward Marconi
20 years ago I met Ben standing in line waiting to put in his application to become a SA Police officer. I knew immediately he would be an outstanding Police officer. During the process he invited me into his family as I was from out of Country and he provided support and encouragement even though we were competing for the limited positions. That is the man I remember Protective, Competitive, Supportive. RIP Ben and I pray for you and your family.

My prayers go out to the Marconi family during this period of grief. Know that Detective Marconi died a hero, doing what he loved, and that he will not be forgotten. I am the son of a slain State Trooper, and though I never had the honor of meeting my father, I understand what your family is going through. God Bless and keep you.

So very sad, my partner is a former SAPD officer, he is also very sad. The perpetrator of this crime has to be both deranged, and a coward, to murder a police officer performing his duties.
May this officer RIP, and now we know the lord has added a outstanding servant to his ranks in heaven
