I had the honor and privilege of meeting Pat and assisting in apprehending a subject roughly one year before his tragic death. He was an amazing Marshal very dedicated to his work and very good at his job. The world is a lesser place without him and he will forever be missed. I hope one day I can have close to the reputation Pat did. You will not be forgotten brother and we often sit around telling our Pat Carothers stories. I love hearing the old dogs talk about you. Until Valhalla brother we’ll take the watch from here.

I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

We miss your common sense, humor, and bear hugs. Your lessons are still being taught. I remember the many situations that ended with, "You can't make this stuff up, cause no one would believe it!". One of my favorites is when you told us to start arresting folks at a large news office when they tried to hide the person we were serving a court order on. The looks on their faces were priceless.
