Officer Bashioum, THANK YOU for your service day in and day out while patrolling your area and made the ultimate sacrifice to protect and serve the Canonsburg Borough Police Department. My prayers are with you, your department, and your family and friends in this time of despair. Hopefully, your partner will make it through his surgery. "The Thin Blue Line"
There is a line
the color of the sky
on a clear afternoon
There is a line
the hue of the ocean
on a bright sunny day
There is a line
the purest shade of a newborn's eyes
awakening for the first time
There is a line
that protects us from harm
in all we do
whether day or night
There is a line
no one can penetrate
no one can alleviate
There is a line
made of those who choose
to follow a calling many do not hear
and still more do not comprehend
They choose to walk
the path of fear, hate, and mistrust
taken by so few
but marked by so many
And when one leaves this line
they leave a legacy
but the line does not break
for the remaining must still protect
There may be emptiness
a loss, or sadness
but never a hole
not in this line
This line that holds
the ghosts of the souls who have gone
and the souls of the ghosts who will be

Dear Scott:
Many years ago, President Abraham Lincoln said, “…that these honored dead shall not have died in vain”. Though tragic, painful, senseless and totally unnecessary, you too, are among those to whom President Lincoln paid homage to. The people of Pennsylvania, and the United States of America, owe you a debt that can never ever be paid. Your sacrifice has guaranteed them the life promised to all of Americans by our Founding Fathers; “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness”.
This horror has become all too frequent of late. I ask, when, America, are you going to wake up to this war against our law enforcement officers and DEMAND the harshest punishment to vermin like this subject, who make war on our law enforcement officers? This is a war that such gutter trash is committing against you as well, for they have blatant disregard for the American ideas, morals and mores. I ask too, that you reflect, even for a moment, what Scott’s family is going through, and will be for some time. To think what it will be like in his family in in 14 days from now…Thanksgiving Day, when, while we celebrate our good fortune and God’s blessings, Scott’s family looks at an empty seat at the dinner table.
Scott, may Almighty God bless you, your family and our beloved law enforcement officers all across the nation. Thank you for your service and dedication to “Protect and serve”. The words given to me by my late Dad upon my graduation from the Police Academy, I give to you: “Above all else, honor”.
Rest in peace, we have the watch.

Lake Mary Police, Fl.
