A life tragically taken. My deepest sympathies to the department and his family for this loss. His watch has ended, but he has simply moved deep inside the hearts of those who knew and loved him; he will continue to live on there. My heart aches for all of you, but he is now patrolling on the streets of gold and he will see you again. Of that I am certain. May His peace, which surpasses all understanding, bring you comfort at this time.

The Detroit Police Department mourns the loss of Officer Myron Jarrett as he was killed by a hit and run driver who was later arrested at a bus stop. His name will join others on the wall in Washington, DC in May of next year as him and other police officers who were killed in the line of duty will be honored for their service to their communities.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Detroit Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

We have lost too many brothers that seemingly have been grossly discounted as the special human beings that they are. Maybe in order to try to maintain a civilized society we should try to live a day without their presence and contributions in the maintaining of a democratic society where everyone counts. You say no, but then why don't you try standing behind them and support them when they stand the line between protecting us from harm. Stand down my brother you have served us well. May God watch over you and grant you life everlasting.

God Bless and watch over the family and fellow officers who try to make a difference. This makes me so angry and I wish our Governments National and State would pass laws making it so severe a punishment for the murders that they would think twice. I extend my deepest heartfelt sorrow for your loss. We all feel the loss. God be with you.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
