Reflections for Sergeant Allen David Brandt
On behalf of Sergeant Brandt's family, I would like to give my sincere, heartfelt condolences to you. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain that you are going through right now. I had thought for sure that your son/husband was going to pull through. Sergeant Brandt was a true hero who risked his life every day to keep his community safe, and heroes are never forgotten. My heartfelt condolences go out to Sergeant Brandt's family and friends and to all the brave men and women of the Fairbanks Police Department. Rest in peace, sir.

Avenue of the Fallen
Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Sergeant Brandt, thank you sir for your service. The coward that ambushed and murdered you, can never be allowed to walk the Earth as a free man again. The criminal must be made to pay the consequences of his acts against you. The citizens of the great State of Alaska are in mourning over your death. Rest in peace Sergeant Allen Brandt.
A PART OF AMERICA DIED.... Somebody killed a policeman today .... And a part of America died…. A piece of our country he swore to protect .... Will be buried with him at his side.... The beat that he walked was a battlefield too,.... Just as if he had gone off to war, .... Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half-mast .... To his name they will add a gold star.... The suspect that shot him will stand up in court .... With counsel demanding his rights,.... While a young widowed mother must work for her kids .... And spend many long, lonely nights... .. Yes, somebody killed a policeman today…. Maybe in your town or mine,.... While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors.... A cop put his life on the line.... Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street, .... And he stands at each new rookie's side; .... He answered the call… of himself gave his all,.... And a part of America died.
