Reflections for Police Officer Lesley Marie Zerebny
My prayers go out to the families of the fallen officers and prayers to the wounded officer.
As a retired officer who was working the night one of our own was shot and eventually killed by a senseless act, my heart hurts over this.
RIP Heroes and you will not be forgotten.

It is a great tragedy anytime a brother or sister loose their lives while trying to be the best they can be serving and protecting others. But these 2 deaths and others like theirs are more heartbreaking. One having served honorably for 35 years and 2 months from his retirement and the other a young lady trying to be the best she could be with a 4 month old baby and having only 18 months into what would of been a shinning career. My heart goes out as well as my prayers for their family and fellow officers. If there can be a spark of light in heinous horribly tragic incident is that the 3rd officer survived the attack. As said before and will be stated many more times they serve in heaven with many brothers and sisters gone before them.

Thank you for serving for the citizens and may you rest in peace. I sit here with tears in my eyes not knowing what to say - it is just a senseless taking of a life of new mother along with a public servant who was living a life to help people. You will never be forgotten and Officer Vega who was to retire in 2 months after 35 years - how can that happen. Bless you both and the families.

Sad to hear the loss of such a young person just doing her job. I have been to Palm Springs and it seemed peaceful there. Many of us civilians can go about enjoying an adventure without knowing what it costs for some to enable us to do so in peace.. Rob McPhail Australia

When officer's are struck down and the end of their watch arrives, it reopens the pain and loss I feel of losing my stepfather in the 1950's as he investigated a domestic violence situation...thinking the situation was calmed, but as he turned to walk out, the man grabbed Dad's pistol and fired both into dad and into his wife standing next to dad.
It never becomes easier as policemen and women pass in the line of their duty...I appreciate each one of you...stretching across America...for the service you give to your community...the fright that you feel and get past putting on your uniform, badge and revolvers and kiss your family goodbye. I pray for all of you on a daily basis...and always give a verbal thanks to each one of you I see around me.
Your work is important...society is changing and becoming uglier and uglier. But, we in society, appreciate what you do and what you give on our behalf. God bless each of you.
