This has me so sad...you didn't get your feet wet, and you got hurt. My heart goes out to you, and your child. I don't know you, but we both pin on that shield and go out there to fight for the forces of evil. I wish I could say more. My condolences to you and the Palm Springs PD.

God bless Lesley and Gil, yet again police officers have sacrificed their lives to protect the public. The terrible impact that this has on their families and work colleagues will not bare description.
Although long retired from the Metropolitan Police in London, the San Jose Police department holds a special place in my heart as I had the pleasure of being a personal friend of one of your former officers, the late Larry Stuefloten who once told me of the difficulties American officers faced on a daily basis when dealing with firearms. I cannot imagine what you are all going through at this time. My personal thoughts and condolences now go out to you all....God Bless.
