Reflections for Police Officer Lesley Marie Zerebny
I met your Family in May and they are wonderful and your Daughter is so beautiful. I am thinking about you all today on this day that marks 8 years since yours and your partner, Officer Vega's untimely deaths.. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten.

My dear Indio High school and Track and cross-country friend. I guess you and I were one of the few that stayed on the right path and continued our careers on law-enforcement .
I was present at your viewing in Palm Springs and also at your burial in Coachella.
I visit you at your grave from time to time, coz I also have my little brother and grandma there.
May you rest in peace, and you are not forgotten by your high school friends and us in the Law-Enforcement field.
Sincerely your Long time friend.

I had the pleasure of meeting your father this last weekend out in the desert off roading. He was flying a Officer blue line US flag on his truck . My son Alhambra Ryan Stringer, EOW 7/10/11 was our common ground and we shed a tear together talking about you both. Its a shame we have to meet under these conditions but we both are forever proud of you both. I believe there is a special place in heaven with God for those who believe and maybe you could look up Ryan and say Hi for me. Thank you for you service and I will keep your family in my Prayers. I remember the day I heard about your passing. I had just returned from maternity leave and our babies were the same age at the time of your murder. My heart ached for you, for your baby, and for your law enforcement husband who has to carry on this life without you. You are never forgotten and I think of your strength when this job gets hard. Rest in peace, Officer Zerebny.

Lesley, I remember the day I got the phone call Saying Palm Springs Officer’s down (11-99). My heart sank and I prayed that you were okay. It always hits close to home anytime an Officer, Deputy, or other Law Enforcement professional is killed, but this hit especially close to home. There is not a day that goes by I don’t think about you, your beautiful baby girl Cora, or Zack. You were without a doubt a light shining brightly in this world. I will always cherish the fact that I had the privilege of knowing you. We all miss you so much.

Every time i think about you and that day 10/08/2016 when i heard the news is like I'm back to that day. I am so proud of you and your service, i know you are in a better place and god is watching over and protecting your great family including your little one. I am glad i had to chance to meet you personally and maybe that is why this tragedy hit me hard, your husband will raise a beautiful daughter and he will honor his badge and the code of the department i once worked for as well. i can promise you i will do my best to become the best deputy i can be, just like you did when you became a police officer.

My absolute respect goes out to Officer Zerebny. No amount of words can express the gratitude and respect I have for those who wore the cloth of our Nation's Law Enforcement Officers. I am so heart wrenched and disheartened that one person's wicked action took you away from more time with your husband and to watch your child grow, but I am absolutely proud and thankful for those like you with a courageous heart and stern dedication to do what is right and noble in the face of adversary is just truly awe inspiring and unfathomable to those who will never understand the burden that you and those before you bear on a daily basis. My family and I thank you parents of Officer Zerebny for raising such an outstanding daughter and Citizen, to her husband and child I have only the slightest idea how much life has changed, I pray that God brings you both comfort and great healing, my heart aches for you both, I pray for absolute joy in your live's together. God bless you Zerebny family and Semper Fidelis.

I was lucky enough to go through the academy with Officer Zerebny. She was an outstanding person both in her career and personal life. She loved life and was tough as nails. Her husband is a stand up individual whom I have greatly enjoyed working with. I am so proud my law enforcement career has allowed me to work with these two heroes. God bless you Zack and rest in peace Lesley.
