Reflections for Sergeant Steven C. Owen
Your death was a matter of cruel fate and tragedy. The suspect going out of his way to kill and murder Sgt Steve Owen is another sign of what some are willing to do to those in uniform. May you rest in peace, God bless you.

Sergeant Steve Owen led a great life and served his community with dedication and professionalism. His life was taken too soon through an act of cowardice. We will continue to remember all the great things he accomplished in his time with the Sheriff’s Department, and we will remember who he was as a person. I did not know him personally, although after reading some of the reflections left on his page I can imagine he was a kind and selfless person. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

Steve,
Thinking of my Steve (Blair) on the anniversary of his murder today and remembering all of the calls and stories and laughs we all shared while working the streets of Lynwood together. You were a great friend to us both and I know you’re both watching over us all from above...
Miss you my friend...

I attended West Coast Baptist College at the time of your end of watch. The College facilities were used to host your funeral where many came from all over California. Your loss was felt by all of the student body and we all thanked you for your long service to our city. As a result I am now a Police Officer myself. It is an honor to wear the badge that many men like you have worn. I wear it with pride in service to the people of my city. This is my ministry. Rest In Peace brother.
