Reflections for Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega, Jr.
Agent Vega: Thanks for your faithful service to the Border Patrol and to this great nation as a U.S Marine. It's obvious that you were trying to protect your family from dangerous criminals and for that your family and fellow law enforcement officers are grateful. I hope your children, father and wife live on knowing that you were a brave and selflessly courageous officer, who shall not be forgotten by them, or by your brothers and sisters in law enforcement.

Agent Vega, I may not have known or been affiliated with you personally, but as a big supporter of all law enforcement officers and agents in this great country, I can only say thank you for your service, not just as a US Border Patrol Agent but also as a United States Marine. Having a father who is retired from service with the USBP, I know what it’s like to live in fear of losing the ones you love and worrying that your loved one could very realistically become a LODD. You may have paid the ultimate sacrifice, but your service will be honored forever, and you will never be forgotten for your contributions to this great country of hours. John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Javier,
I am glad to see the Chief's committee came to their senses and reclassified you as a LODD. You have a strong loyalty chain to your family, and that is commendable on its own.
Anyone in GREEN/BLUE probably would have reacted the same way you did when faced with those circumstances in close proximity to their family.
Rest in peace, brother. May your memory live in the hearts of those that you fought to protect.

Dear Javier:
I am sorry it took several years for you to receive the well-deserved and long overdue recognition for your service and sacrifice. But I am also sorry for the blind eye that this nation has toward illegal immigrants who pollute our nation by committing horrific violent crimes, such as this. But this is not about vermin such as those who did this. It is a tribute to you and your family.
To serve one’s fellow countrymen with dedication and honor such as you did, in this day and age, is rare and commendable…unless one is a law enforcement officer. But I also want to send my prayers and condolences to your family and the U.S. Border Patrol, as I am certain both are still reeling from this event. May Almighty God bless them both, and you as well. I can hear the words now, of our Heavenly Father when you entered the Gates of Heaven: “Welcome Home”.
Rest in peace, we have the watch. “Above all else, honor”.

The simple fact that you were murdered by Illegal Aliens who tried to rob you is so ironic, it's devastating.
The job you did and your colleagues do, day in and day out is so magnificently heroic and under appreciated it's mind boggling.
Agent Vega, I know your family will forever hold you dear in their hearts and minds. We all will mourn you as well. Thank you for your service to this great nation as a Marine as well as an Agent with the Border Patrol.
God Bless you and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.
