Reflections for Police Officer Patricio Enrique Zamarripa

God bless you my brother in blue. The news of your murder by a racist coward was a shock to all of us in the law enforcement community. Many do not appreciate the risk we all take or the sacrifices we make as police officers. They talk ill of us, but call when something goes bump in the night. And what do we do? We go and we make them feel safe because that is our duty as guardians of the publics safety.

Thank you for performing your duty to the citizens of Dallas. Thank you for protecting the freedoms and rights of those who don't care for us. You were a true warrior and guardian to the end.

To your family, I am truly sorry for your loss. No one can appreciate the hell you are going through. You saw your husband off to work and he never came home again. Only the wives of those of us that wear the shield get it.

God I am so sorry. My heart breaks for all of you in Dallas.

What happened in Dallas is a complete disgrace. You are all heroes and the entire law enforcement community mourns, today, tomorrow, for all eternity.

God Bless you Officer Zamarripa and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful. So long as those who love and know you best keep you in their hearts and minds, you will never be truly gone from them. Thank you for your service to this nation as a whole and for the time you spent protecting the people of Dallas.

As it was in the very beginning, we not know when we may be called before the Lord.

As we suit up for our tour of duty, this is part of what goes through your mind.

As we leave for our tour of duty, we kiss our spouse & our children goodbye...hoping for an uneventful day or night.

In such cases, an uneventful day or night, doesn't happen, a call comes in
A suspicious person, a person with a weapon, a traffic stop. Any of them could spell danger.

As you answer the call, you breathe a little deeper, you tense up a little tighter, not knowing what is about to happen.

When incident is over and all is well, you relax, you breathe normally. All is well, until the next call.

At the end of your tour, and everything is well, you get to go home, and kiss your loved ones again.

However, if a brother/sister officer is killed, for whatever reason, wherever they may serve, as officers of the law, a piece of us dies with them.

As an officer of the law, keep in mind this...in this world, we cannot take life for granted, for we are not guaranteed by Almighty God, our next breath.

Pray for our police officers every day. Most will make it home at the end of their tour of duty.

Some will not.

We will honor those, who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom and protection.

From the very first officer known to die in the line of duty in the United States (Constable Darius Quimby – Albany County, NY – 1791) to these brave officers, they all have one thing in common...they died performing the motto “To Protect and to Serve”. Let us remember them always !

My heart goes out to this young officer's family. I have two brothers affiliated with law enforcement; one is a retired metro officer from the San Francisco PD...We always, ALWAYS worried about his safety. The other sibling is with the US Border Patrol, and we still worry about his safety to this day. My only son will be starting his career in law enforcement, and I cannot even begin to fathom what I would feel should I ever experience a loss such as the one that Officer Zamarripa's family is now facing...

...flights of angels sing thee to thy rest...

I pray for a better tomorrow for ALL law enforcement officers...

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Dallas Police Department. Our country is much less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!

I have just reach my 21st year in a job that I do because my love of helping others and making a difference. I to know the sacrifices that I make each day I walk out my door that I may never return after that last hug or kiss to my wife and kids. But this senseless act of cowardness and terrorism against law enforcement has got to stop. I know that their are officers who sometimes make the wrong split second decision but let the system deal with the officers who make those wrong decisions and don't take it out on officers worldwide with families that they to have to take care of. My vow to all as an officer is that ALL LIVES MATER UNLESS U TRY TO TAKE THAT LIFE OF A 3RD PARTY MY FELLOW OFFICERS LIFE OR MINE. I WILL DO WHAT I CAN TO MAKE IT HOME TO MY LOVED ONES. IN THE CASE THAT I DON'T PLEASE KNOW THAT I APPRECIATE AND LOVE MY FAMILY IN BLUE AND THOSE CITIZENS WHO APPRECIATE WHAT SACRIFICES WE ALL MAKE AND THOSE WHO DON'T HAVE A CLUE.

BLESSED ARE THE PEACE MAKERS FOR THEY SHALL BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD!
MY PRAYERS ARE WITH DALLAS PD AND ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES IN THE US FOR THE LOSS OF MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN BLUE.
GOD BLESS.
