On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Harvey was killed.
To the Snook family, fellow officers, and all who call Harvey beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you. We shall never forget any of our 9/11 heroes.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Corporal Snook gave to his community and the citizens of our country, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 14, 2016.

A Prayer for Corporal Harvey Snook, III:
Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Corporal Harvey Snook, III, of the Arlington County, Virginia Police Department, was taken from us after a lengthy illness in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Corporal Harvey Snook, III, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]
