Reflections for Police Officer Endy Nddiobong Ekpanya
I saw Endy in the PD parking lot one evening walking to his car with his head down. I stopped him and said "I don't ever want to see you walking with your head down again" He replied softly but with a big smile "yes ma'am" The next time I saw Endy he had big smile on his face he stopped and said "Mrs. Dawn I remember what you said" We hugged and he walked away. A gentle soul will be missed.

My deepest sympathy to all your loved ones and friends. This didn't have to happen and so many lives have been affected for ever. I lost my police officer son almost 12 years ago, killed by a drunk driver while on patrol. I miss him every day as I know all of your loved ones and close friends miss you. Continue to keep watch over your family. You will never be forgotten.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

Endy, I never met you in this life, but I can tell it would have been an honor if I had the chance. I am a former MP so I walked in your shoes a few times. I pray that the one who WRONGFULLY took your life gets the MAX punishment here on earth, followed by the ULTIMATE punishment when coming face to face with the big man upstairs. I am thing of you and carry your family in my heart and prayers.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
