To the Family of Sergeant Derrick Mingo
I was deeply sadden when I heard of the death of Officer Mingo. Please take comfort in Jesus words at John 5:28,29 where he said that there will be a resurrection. Just think of the time when we will see our loved ones again, here on a paradise earth (Rev. 21:3,4). Once again, my deepest condolences to the family.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Winnsboro Police Department. Our country is much less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

Brother, when I received a phone call that morning that you had fallen in the line of duty it brought me to a point of no words. Out of all the people I have met and had the pleasure of working with. You were the kindest. You always had a smile and something funny to say. When it was time to get it you were ahead of the pack. The very last call I took with you I laughed so hard at the way you ran past all of us and caught our juvenile suspect. Brother I enjoyed working with you, knowing you and having you watch my back for what time I did work with you. You will be missed by so many and my heart aches for your family. I know you are in a better place and we will get a chance to catch up again. I figure I'll probably hear ya holler "hey Bub", Until then brother rest easy, I'm gonna miss ya but God knows when your time is done. As much as it hurts it's his will and I'll remember the good times and all the advice I ever received from you that helped me to better myself as an officer. Rest in piece PD. 17. You finally made it too you're 42.
