Not only was this tragic, it was infuriating. This thug put so many in danger after killing a good and decent law enforcement officer. We can only hope that once he enters prison, he never sees freedom again.
Detective Lancaster, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service to this nation and the citizens of Kansas City. You are truly a hero as are all those men and women who chased and eventually caught the vile scum who murdered you. Your sacrifice was not in vain, but oh so unnecessary.
God Bless you, Brother and may you eternally Rest in Peace.

My deepest condolences to the family, friends, and the KCK PD for your loss. My office is just a few miles from where this took place and to know that I wasn't able to assist a fellow brother in blue is tough. A good guy dies while the bad guy lives. There's something wrong with that and it should have been the other way around. RIP Detective Lancaster, RIP.

A Prayer for Detective Brad Lancaster:
Lord God, you are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Detective Brad Lancaster, of the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department, was taken from us suddenly and violently in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. Heavenly Father, as we mourn the death of our Brother-in-Blue, Detective Brad Lancaster, show us the immense power of your goodness and strengthen our belief that he has entered into Your presence. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
"For the policeman does not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for that very purpose. Obey the laws, then, for two reasons: first, to keep from being punished, and second, just because you know you should." [Romans 13:3-5 TLB]
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
“Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
