Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. There is a very unique group of men and women in this country who routinely stand as a line between society and those who would hurt and kill others. Officer Smith was one such person who dedicated his life to serving and protecting his community and that community has suffered a great loss with his passing.

The bravery and sacrifices you have made have been of the utmost of service to your community and your family. May the Holy Chief be with your family now and for the many weeks ahead and they adjust to such a loss that has no boundaries.
