Reflections for Trooper Thomas L. Clardy
Trooper Clardy, it has been 8 years since you were taken from us. The MSP has erected a moving memorial to you at the Charlton Troop Station, but having you there and home with your six children would be a much better scenario.
New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your military and 10 years of law enforcement service.

It is truly sad that this cause of death is preventable. Cruiser cages have a long history of causing injury and death in collisions.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Thomas was killed.
To the Clardy family, fellow troopers, and all who call Thomas beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
I also thank Thomas for his service to our country in the Corps. He was my son's brother in green as well as blue and I bid him Semper Fi.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Trooper Clardy gave to his community and the citizens of Massachusetts, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 16, 2016.

I was at the 82nd graduating class of MST. My family member graduated, today. God Bless her hard work and dedication to be the best! It was a wonderful graduation, and there were so many people that spoke so highly of Trooper Clardy, it was a very emotional part of the ceremony.
He was a VERY respected and loved Trooper, Husband, Father, Friend and Teacher. God Bless his Wife, Children and Family, he will be greatly missed,
Reflected on, Prayed for and Honored for being the Strong, Dedicated, Loving man he was, and is. Thank you for your service to this Country, to your Community and your department, you will be greatly missed by ALL.

God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights,
bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Lord,
amid the ranks of the holy and the pure,
illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the soul of Thomas Clardy who went to his eternal place of rest.
May You who are the source of mercy shelter him beneath Your wings eternally,
and bind his soul among the living, that he may rest in peace. And let us say: Amen.

A Policeman's Prayer
Lord, I ask for courage;
Courage to face and conquer my own fears...
Courage to take me where others will not go.
I ask for strength;
Strength of body to protect others...
Strength of spirit to lead others.
I ask dedication;
Dedication to my job to do it well...
Dedication to my community to keep it safe.
Give me, Lord, concern;
For all those who trust me...
And compassion for those who need me
And, please, Lord, through it all; be at my side.
