The life of a good man taken by a stupid decision made by someone who did not care he was putting lives of good people at risk. Now I have lost another of my brothers in blue. It is becoming so hard to read about my family and the number we lose every year. Rest in Peace brother in the arms of the lord. We will see you again someday, until then remember WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Rest in Peace Brother.

Deputy Kotfila worked my son's accident late Friday night. He came to the hospital to update us on the incident and to give us the case information. He could have left it at that, but he asked if we had any questions and spent time with us in conversation before leaving for TGH. As we are a family with a law enforcement officer, we appreciated the fact that he was professional and the epitome of a man and law enforcement. The time he spent with us was valuable and we were devastated to learn about his death this morning. Please know that our family will be praying for the HCSO Family and the Kotfila family. St. Michael, please continue to watch over law enforcement and help bring the soul of Deputy Kotfila to our Lord in Heaven.

My heart breaks for Dep Kotfila's family and his co-workers. Another tragedy on the highways where inattentiveness was likely the cause. When will drivers learn. Thank you John for your devoted service; you will forever be my hero.
