Rest in peace. I am sorry you never got to truly see the joys of the job and I am sorry that a coward had to turn to violence to deal with his own issues, more specifically, a choice that he would not allow you to walk away from. We in blue, have this imperfection in us that wants to believe all people are good in general, and we will go towards harms way in a moments notice to make sure the good live to see another day. You were and still are a sister to us, and we will never forget you. For your family, I wish them the best in finding piece with the loss of their daughter as I know that will be no easy task. I hope they seek whatever help us in blue have to offer as we are here for you and them. You were a fighter, and now a hero. We have your watch now and will keep that blue flame lit.

Breaks my Heart and Soul that in these times of bashing against LE that a brand new sheepdog is lost in the line of duty.
I'm now retired from a line of duty injury 2+ years ago and I'm humbled that there are still brave souls that enter this career path.

Your efforts and determination will NEVER go unappreciated Officer Guindon ....be at peace now pulling security detail at the pearly gates....and we will join you soon.

I'll be praying for your family and loved ones and colleagues. This seems even sadder to me, just thinking of the fact that it was only your first day, and you've never even had the feeling of taking your vest and duty belt off after a long day and going home to your family. Rest easy in heaven, and I know you're inside heavens pearly gates. Your loss is not and won't ever be forgotten.

I came across this when reading about another female officer that had been shot recently. It breaks my heart when I see any officer killed in the line of duty. But I get even more emotionally effected when it's a female officer or a rookie. This combination of both and adding to the fact she was killed on her first weekend on the streets is just devastating. I can't even imagine the devastation her loved ones are feeling. May G_d bless all who are grieving. I am at a loss for words. RIP guardian, protector aka: Police Officer Ashley Guindon.

Fallen Comrade

Taking cover... shots fired, then you hear that sound. The unmistakable crackle of the radio, the feared words...'Officer Down'.
One more fallen comrade, the number continues to grow. Sorrow fills one's heart, trying not to let the anger show.

Waging a daily battle, out there trying to win the war. Never knowing what you'll encounter, on this stop or from behind that next door.

One more fallen comrade, is gone and out of our sight. Yet guiding us from up above, always riding on our right.

RIP Officer Ashley Guindon
