I remember the pride and joy when you get sworn in with your family there to congratulate you. Maybe a dinner afterward? Then your first shift hits and you're all nerves. Since that day, I have been present and seen many officers start, so I now know that a Department shares that joy and those nerves...like reliving that start day for each of us. All smiles, all kinds of welcomes. My heart breaks for your family, your Department, your partner and your FTO. Rest in Peace

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

John Tomer, retired NCSHP. My heart goes out to the family, friends, and fellow officers. In my career, I attended way too many funerals of fallen Troopers. They are all hard, because it reminds us that we could be next, but by the grace of God almighty. You are in my prayers...Sgt J. E. Tomer
