The day Ashley had to leave this world way too soon will always stay in my memory. I wish we could have saved her. And although I only got to meet her briefly, I will never forget her.
I wish Ashley could have seen all the people who came out to honor her at her memorial service. It was an overwhelming experience and I felt honored to be a part of it.
I hope her mom can find peace in the thought that her daughter will always be remembered as a hero. Rest in peace Ashley Guindon.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Ashley was killed.

To the Guindon family, fellow officers, and all who call Ashley beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

She was my son's sister in green as well as blue, and I thank her for her service in the Corps and bid her Semper Fi.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Guindon gave to her community and the citizens of Virginia, and for the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on February 27, 2016.

I have deep ties to Prince William County, Law Enforcement and the United States Marine Corps. As someone who is the administrator for A Facebook (FB) Site Dedicated To Women-In-Uniform, as well as A Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia FB Site (which Ashley is now a permanent entry on both FB Sites), I was truly-saddened to hear about this tragic incident.
