Ashely,

4 years have passed since your death, and I still hold onto the guilt that I lost contact with you after college. On the day I heard what happened, I called another mutual friend of ours, Alan. I cried for hours with him because of the guilt I felt and how after we graduated we parted ways. It wasn’t intentional. It just happened. I guess that’s life and everyone has different things going on.

I know we were weren’t best friends, but you were such an amazing person, and a great friend. Those times in class we would goof off and make fun of our professors, and how you and Alan would always poke fun at me because I was in the Army. I miss those much simpler times.

Back in November I got your name tattooed on my right wrist as a memorial to myself. A reminder for me to not feel guilty. Your memory will live on forever, especially with me.
