Several bits of information in this article are incorrect. The suspect in the bicycle case was not the same as who shot Patrolman Edward T(homas) Broadfoot. Also, his wife's name was Maude. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery.
I'm also looking for any family members of Broadfoot or his partner, Leslie C Dowdy, and also looking for anyone who might know any previous employment Broadfoot had to becoming a police officer for Memphis.

Officer Broadfoot had a wife named Mollie, a young son and was 36 years old at the time of his death. He is buried in Forrest Hill Cemetery in Memphis. He lost his life in the line of duty serving the people of the City of Memphis as a police officer. The suspect who took his life escaped that day. But, I believe he probably met his fate on another day in the same manner. He was never apprehended. Rest in Peace Officer Broadfoot.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 94th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
