Officer James Brizendine was my Uncle. He was killed before I was born but I heard stories about him from my dad Paul, James' younger brother. I have lost both of my parents now & my brother too so I recently decided to look into Ancestry. Thanks to all of you for your kind words here. I wish I had known him.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 58th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Officer Brizendine, your life ended 6 days before I was born. I, too, have chosen a career in Law Enforcement. It saddens me to see an Officer who has given the ultimate sacrifice not having any refelections. Rest in peace now Officer Brizendine and watch out for us from above. You are gone but not forgotten and you did not die in vain.
