Reflections for Police Officer Ricardo Galvez

To the family of Officer Ricardo Galvez I want to extend my sincere sympathy and grief at the death of your son. I truly know what it feels like to lose a son at a very early age. My son, Traffic Officer Brian M. Law with the California Highway Patrol was taken at a very early age (34) just last year. I read the details concerning your son's passing and was struck by the parallel between your son's life and the life of my boy. Both boys served in the Marine Corp, both of them chose to serve in law enforcement and both of the taken very close to the end of their shift. I felt compelled to let you know that I share your grief and outrage at the passing of your son.

It is a shame we risk everything all the time and we cannot even be safe from harm's way in our own parking lot. You will always be remembered as a hero for donning the uniform of justice daily and not for the way you died. Your brothers and sisters will surely do all they can to ensure the monsters responsible for your death are captured. Rest in peace brother....you will always live in everyone's hearts!
