Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the malice and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen. May God bless you my brother rest easy.

1989 was a memorable year for me. As Hurricane Hugo was barreling toward my hometown of Charleston SC I was just old enough, 5th grade, to know I wanted to be a police officer. This man would have, maybe, been just starting his career at around 28 years old or so. A terrible accident while on patrol left him unable to perform his duties. A traumatic brain injury, my brothers in blue....he paid the ultimate sacrifice. The questions of what he would have accomplished during his career will never be discovered but from reading his bio this officer was tough, a fighter, and he had a dedicated wife. As I approach my 15 year mark I start to reflect on situations that I have experienced where I could have been in this same situation. After joining this site, reading these bios, I have started doing a few things. I wake up a couple hours early before my day begins and say some prayers for these men and women. I go about my daily duties with these folks on my mind and resort back to the basics and try harder to not skip any steps. I have been concentrating on more physical fitness and law enforcement tactics to make it home at the end of my shift. We all need to continue to do walk in their footsteps. God Bless all of us and everyone stay safe today.

Colleton County Sheriffs Office (SC)
