SFC Webster was my platoon sergeant at Ft Bragg from 99-01. My first and best platoon sgt. He taught me the 60mm mortar and basically raised me to be the best gunner in the battalion. He was a tough teacher, many times I didn’t like him at all. But I respected him, and will miss him. I’ve tried to look him up many times over the years. Sadly this is the first I have found. Few know he was a medic prior to being infantry, and those massive hands could administer a flu shot flawlessly. Lol I never saw it coming. Salute to a man worth knowing and remembering. He will never be forgotten.

On this 5th anniversary of Officer Webster’s passing, the City of Albuquerque remains committed to honoring his life and legacy, including through the development of Officer Daniel Webster Park. Phase 2 of the park is under construction right now, which includes grass areas, park amenities and the planting of trees in Officer Webster’s memory. Phase 3, which will include more play features, is going through planning/design. The park carries forward Officer Webster’s great passion for helping Albuquerque’s children.

Rest In Peace Dan. You were one of the best cops I had the honor of working with in my career. You truly were a hero. I will also remember your passion for the job. You also had a big smile on your face when I saw you. Thanks for the great memories. You are greatly missed but we will try our best to carry on the legacy of your dedication and service to others. Until we meet again.....,

Officer Webster, brother, we can all learn so much from you. Your warrior spirit was honorable. You are truly a hero in every sense of the word.

To your family- thank you for sharing Daniel with us. I'm so sorry he is gone. I, myself, take comfort in knowing that I will one day get to meet him in another place much better than this. He was the ultimate protector and he was a faithful servant. May he rest in peace.

God Bless

I just view the released video of this incident. I believe the assailant was remorseful over his having shot Officer Webster--but it's too late. Dan Webster is dead. I hope the memory of Dan Webster is one in which he will be remembered as simply an officer who did his job well in the face of the enemy.

I extend my sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Dan was killed.

To the Webster family, fellow officers, and all who call Dan beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Webster gave to his community and the citizens of New Mexico, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on October 29, 2015.

Rest in Peace brother. I plan to ride my bicycle from Raleigh NC to Washington DC in your memory this May, under Law Enforcement United. It's an honor to have been chosen and a bracelet with your name will be given to be on my journey. We will never forget the ultimate sacrifice you and your family have given. I hope to see the family at the end of the ride to give them the bracelet and thank them for allowing me to ride in his memory.
