Deputy Sheriff Scott,
On today, the 100th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of DeKalb County. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Sorry it took so long for you to be honored as you should have. My 3x great-grandfather was alive and a former Sheriff of DeKalb Co. at the time of this incident. Reading this now gives me yet another feeling of connection with him, as I'm sure he attended the funeral.

We cannot fully honor our heroes of today without acknowledging and honoring our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 96th anniversary year of your death.
Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
