Deputy Andrade, I honor you for your sacrifice. Val Verde County has thrived since the day you gave your life in what was a regular day at work for you, but a true act of bravery and heroism for the citizens of Val Verde. On behalf of my grandmother Elvira Andrade Dominguez, and her descendants I thank you for the example of true citizenship and duty you exemplified. My grandmother used to tell us stories about you patrolling on horseback. Rest in peace knowing that many of us, your family, have followed in your foot steps. Many of us serve our community protecting and serving. From you have come many law enforcement officers such as myself, educators, lawyers, military members, and many others who serve the greater good. I plainly and wholeheartedly thank you.

We cannot fully honor our heroes of today without acknowledging and honoring our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 109th anniversary year of your death.

Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
