My condolences to Sgt. Vassallo's husband, son, family, friends, and colleagues. Revelation 20:12,13 reads "I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened. But another scroll was opened; it is the scroll of life. The dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the Grave gave up the dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds." Sgt. Vassallo died doing a good deed, for that she will soon be awaken by God. What a wonderful prospect outlined for of loved ones who have fallen asleep in death. I pray Jehovah God's promise for Sgt. Vassallo brings comfort to all who knew her.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Peggy was killed.

To the Vassallo family, fellow officers, and all who call Peggy beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Sgt. Vassallo gave to her community and the citizens of Missouri , and for the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on August 24, 2015.
